
Biography
Chloe is an BCMA award nominated, classically trained multi-instrumentalist, bass guitar tutor living in Surrey. Currently working as a session player predominantly in the Country music scene. Chloe can be seen playing bass regularly for Gina Larner, HarleyMoon Kemp and ‘Defying Gravity-West End Women’ touring musical theatre show.
Having started on the Cello (amongst others) from a young age she picked up the Bass guitar aged 13 and embarked on a journey into the world of pop music. She studied a degree in popular music performance on Bass guitar at the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn. At the same time, she started to gig professionally in both fringe productions of musical theatre (Company by Sondheim) and in Folk pop group Unkle Bob. With Unkle Bob she toured the country extensively supporting the likes of James, The Goo Goo Dolls and Tim Booth and recording albums with critically acclaimed producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez, Feeder, Paolo Nutini) and Saul Davies (James) recording the bands second album ‘Shockwaves’ in 2010. Performances from this time included prestigious venues including Brixton Academy and The Royal Albert Hall.
Chloe then went onto play for orchestral art-pop band The Irrepressibles on both Cello and Bass Guitar touring around the globe, including Europe, America and Australia, and featuring on recordings with the band for several of their albums and eps. As well as this Chloe has been featured twice in both Bass Guitar Magazine and online magazine iBass Magazine and performed for the London Bass Guitar Show for Elixir Strings and Overwater Basses. She is currently endorsed by Aguilar Amps and Overwater Basses.
Chloe rejoined Unkle Bob after a nine year hiatus, recording and contributing songwriting to their new record ‘Invisible’ released October 2022. The record features Chloe’s own song ‘The Girl Who Stole The Boy From Scotland’ which gained praise from online and print media. ‘It’s a high point of an already fantastic album’ (Iain Key, 4/10/2022, www.louderthanwar.com)
In 2023 Chloe started playing for Gina Larner, on her headline tour as well as supporting Scouting for Girls at Boisdales and Simply Red at the Coca-cola arena in Dubai. She has performed with Tik-Tok viral sensation Remember Mondays at their ep launch in London, C2C festival at the o2 arena in London and at BST Hyde Park supporting Billy Joel. In August Chloe played in part of one of Nashville country music’s rising super-stars Alana Springsteen’s UK at The Long Road festival in Leicestershire. In December 2023 Chloe received a nomination for ‘Best Musician’ for the British CMA (Country Music Association) awards.
2024 has seen Chloe perform with Gina Larner on the main stage for festivals such as Great Estate Festival in Cornwall, Witney Festival in Oxfordshire, App Fest in Bath and The prestigious British Country Music festival in Blackpool held at the Winter Gardens. Chloe also performed with Gina at the 2024 Formula E Championship finals at the ExCel Centre in London, as official support for Ella Henderson. Chloe has also performed with chart topping country artist HarleyMoon Kemp at Oxted Festival and rising country star Kezia Gill at her headline set at Rock n Ribs Festival in Somerset. In the summer of 2024 Chloe landed the bass chair for the new touring musical theatre show ‘Defying Gravity-West End Women’ which she played at prestigious theatres all over the UK including her West End Debut at the Adelphi Theatre in London. Chloe will continue to perform with Defying Gravity throughout 2025 and beyond.
